Do you have someone who completely knows you? Community is about loving and being loved, knowing and being known serving and being served. If that is the case we need to ask ourselves, who knows me? We have been taught how to behave in a friendly manner; we know how to be friendly to those around us. Community however is more than friendly behaviour. In 1 Samuel we hear the story of Jonathan, son of King Saul and friend of David. Jonathan made a commitment to be a certain type of friend to David; he made the decision to be a spiritual friend to David. We are called to be spiritual friends to one another.
